Dr. Martin White is the Director, Technical Operations at ASTM International. In his role, he brings 20 years of experience in both academic and industrial fields and is a Materials & Structures Specialist. His recent career has focused on the Certification & Production of Aerospace structures, ranging from the A350-900 XWB Main Landing Gear at Safran Landing Systems, to his most recent role as Chief Engineer for Additive Manufacturing at GKN Aerospace. He spent his early career studying with Rolls Royce at Swansea University to obtain a Doctorate in High Temperature Materials for Gas Turbine applications, as well as a Masters in High Strength Steels for Landing Gears with Airbus, before spending several years as a consultant at Frazer-Nash Consultancy. At Frazer-Nash, he worked across multiple industries – including Aerospace, Civil Nuclear, Defense, and Oil & Gas. Throughout his career, Martin has developed significant experience in managing technical teams on critical projects, as well as the ability to win new customers in emerging technology fields.
