Sinter-based AM Success Strategies

Sinter-based AM (SBAM) processes are powerful methods of producing metal parts additively which can offer improved resolution and surface finish, wider choice of materials, and increased build speed compared to competing AM processes, resulting in lower production costs and enabling new AM applications. Sinter-based AM processes now include several AM technologies as defined in ISO/ASTM 52900: Powder Bed Fusion (PBF), Binder Jetting (BJT), Material Extrusion (MEX), Material Jetting (MJT), and Vat Photopolymerization (VPP).

Though this field has been fraught with much overpromising and under-educating, the processes remain extremely useful when implemented wisely. The webinar will review the current SBAM landscape and highlight some metal binder jet (BJT/M) success stories from this year’s Wohlers Report, as well and provide some guidance for accelerating successful implantation. Some key questions that will be addressed:

  • What is the current landscape of sinter-based AM technologies and companies active in this space, given the recent announcements and M&A activity.
  • What can we learn from recent print-and-sinter successes from companies like John Deere, GKN Additive, GM and others?
  • What are the key considerations in the process workflow for successful application of sinter-based AM?
  • Q&A – Bring your questions and engage directly with an experienced SBAM strategist and technical due diligence expert.
