Venkat Vedula is the Technical Fellow, Additive Manufacturing for Aerospace & Defense at Wohlers Associates, powered by ASTM International. An experienced engineering executive with a passion for technology and innovation, Venkat brings in over 25 years of experience in the areas of advanced materials and manufacturing processes, technology and business strategy development and execution through rigorous process discipline.

In his prior role as executive director at RTX Corporate Technology & Global Engineering, Venkat led the Corporate Additive Manufacturing Center and was responsible for enterprise-wide technology roadmaps and accelerating technology adoption at RTX businesses. Besides additive manufacturing, his responsibilities included early-stage research and development and maturing advanced materials and manufacturing technologies for the next generation aircraft and defense systems.

Venkat started his career at Raytheon Technologies in 2000 as a senior engineer at the Corporate Research Center (RTRC) in East Hartford, CT and has held positions of increasing responsibility. Venkat earned a doctorate in materials science and engineering from Pennsylvania State University, and master’s degree in business from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Venkat has 7 patents issued, is an author of 19 peer-reviewed technical publications and a member of Connecticut Academy of Science & Engineering (CASE).
