Steve McKee is the Technical Fellow for Advanced Manufacturing and Repair for Defense at Wohlers Associates, powered by ASTM International. He has over 25 years of experience in the defense industry, having served in various engineering roles both in and out of uniform, including combat engineer, nuclear engineer, construction engineer, environmental engineer, and licensed civil engineer.

Steve led teams in the development and delivery of numerous cutting-edge advanced manufacturing and repair projects involving industry with U.S. and allied forces. During his tenure with the Office of the Secretary of Defense, he managed contracts valued at over $12 billion and led requirements development efforts to help the U.S. Department of Defense integrate evolving joint and coalition Advanced Manufacturing and Repair capabilities.

He earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering degrees from Cornell University before joining the U.S. Army and later supporting the Navy’s ship repair initiatives. Steve is an avid learner and outdoorsman who enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters, and their dog, Gus.
