Director, Market Intelligence

Mahdi Jamshid is the Director of Market Intelligence for Wohlers Associates, powered by ASTM International. In his role, Mahdi spearheads the modernization and expansion of ASTM’s market intelligence portfolio. In his previous roles, he brought technical expertise to accelerate standardization activities through leading R&D projects as well as data management initiatives at ASTM’s Advanced Manufacturing Division. Mahdi has a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Materials Science and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on electron beam melting (EBM) of Ti-6Al-4V. After his Ph.D., Mahdi joined EWI and completed several government, commercial, and R&D projects. At GE Additive, he was a Staff Engineer in the Materials Technology team and led the Response Surface activities. Mahdi established multiple partnerships with universities and government agencies for applying machine learning and data mining in alloy design, process parameter optimization, and in-situ monitoring. He has co-authored 18 peer-reviewed publications and one patent and has presented more than 50 lectures at various conferences.
